Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)What are LEDs?

What are LEDs?

Light-emitting diodes (LED) are semiconductor devices that emit light when an electric current flows through them. The light generated within these diodes is normally a cool emission, as opposed to the heated light in incandescent bulbs filament.

One of the key features of the LED lights is that they produce energy-efficient sources of artificial light known. They utilize anywhere from 30% to 80% less energy than any other sources of light. LED lights do not emit any dangerous metals or gasses, last longer and are more durable as they are of solid-build.

LED lights are environmentally-friendly and cost-efficient. LED lights are a far better choice than other bulbs given that they produce tremendous brightness using minimal input power quantities.

The mechanical robustness and long lifetime are used in automotive lighting on cars, motorcycles, and bicycle lights. LED light emission may be efficiently controlled by using non-imaging optics principles. [source: Wikipedia]
